I am reading a book by Beth Moore called To Live is Christ. It’s about the life of Paul and it’s so amazing to see the Godly man he became. I was reading a couple of nights ago and came across the following:
“When God desires to do a “new thing” (Isaiah 43:19), He purposely seeks out a few righteous renegades who don’t have a problem breaking the mold! Mold-breakers are usually people who don’t care much about popularity or tradition.”
This really struck me. I want to be the one He seeks out. I want to be the one who doesn’t have a problem breaking the mold. I don’t want to care about popularity or tradition. I only want to care that I am doing the will my Father has for me.
I was interested to see what the definition of renegade is so I did a little research. It means one who rejects a religion, cause, allegiance, or group for another; a deserter; an outlaw; a rebel. The word righteous means morally justifiable; in accordance with virtue or morality. My favorite combination of the two is morally justifiable rebel- that’s what I strive to be.
Wednesday I picked Hailee up at my parents and we went to Sooner Fashion Mall and had our picture taken with Santa. I was really impressed with how well she did. When Santa asked her what she wants for Christmas she said, “Presents.” It was so precious!
Today I baby-sat my niece and nephew. We had a blast…even though by the end of the day I was exhausted! Here are a few of the pictures I took.
This Thanksgiving weekend was so good…and so busy. I don’t think I was home for more than a couple hours from Thursday till last night…but I prefer it that way. Thursday we had lunch at my parents house and had the family over. Some of use went out back afterwards and hit golf balls into the pond. We played games and just hung out. Friday I got up and went shopping with the family which was a HUGE mistake. I hate shopping and going to the mall anyways so why I thought it would be a good idea on black friday I have no idea. Friday night my parents baby-sat my niece and nephew so I went over there and played with them for a couple of hours until I went to a friend’s house to hang out. Saturday I went golfing with my uncle and 2 cousins. It was freezing outside but we had a good time…and a lot of good laughs (thanks Uncle Jerry!). I went to church Saturday night then went to a friend’s to watch OU beat OSU. We had a blast! Sunday I worked on cleaning my house then went to eat and to see the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. That was incredible!! They played a bunch of Christmas music which I love. I am so blessed to have such an amazing family and set of friends!!
